Born in Zurich in 1992, Swiss artist Jana Künzler is inspired by her childhood surrounded by horses and their elegance as well as by her grandmother’s paper artwork. The self-taught artist developed her unique style in 2018 after finalizing her business degree.

In contrast to a fast-paced and complex life, she is seeking simplicity through her work and expresses the minimalization of complexity alongside with her passion for aesthetics. Her approach combines the rough and rigorous character of handmade paper with the conformity and reliability of acrylic color. She portrays her sense for aesthetics through the combination of these materials together with the contrast of straight lines and sonorous elements.

Jana's art is characterized by simplicity. Its focus lies in the expression of the horses, which is portrayed solely through their silhouettes and the structure of the artwork. Their body language speaks for itself.
