Samantha Combs
Sculptor, USA
Samantha Combs was born in Arizona and has lived on cattle ranches all over the desert southwest in the United States. Combs creates abstract equine sculptures in cast bronze inspired by her grandfather’s work as a professional western saddle maker.
'It’s my intention to capture the unseen relationship of movement of an environment as it interacts with the form itself into energetic shapes that ebb and flow into one another. These flowing curves mimic musculature and skeletal structures in order to imitate the energy of these aspects. Each cut into the surface is integral to the overall expression of the animal. Every bend and turn helps to illustrate the creature’s freedom of fluidity.'
